Second suspect arraigned in September robbery of Kochville Township cash ...

SAGINAW — The other man charged in a September robbery of a cash advance store in Kochville Township remained jailed awaiting his next court appearance.

Darius L. Lewis, 22, was arraigned Thursday on charges of armed robbery and possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony in connection with the Sept. 29 incident at Advance America Cash Advance, 2822 Tittabawassee.

Prosecutors in October charged Lewis along with Andre L. Jackson Jr. , but Lewis was at large until last week. He appeared for arraignment after authorities brought him to Saginaw from the Oakland County Jail.

Jackson on Jan. 31 pleaded guilty as charged to the same two felonies. Saginaw County Circuit Judge Fred L. Borchard indicated after a Cobbs hearing that he would sentence Jackson, 19, of Saginaw to a minimum sentence of eight years up to a maximum that the judge will determine. Jackson first must serve the mandatory two-year sentence for the felony firearm charge.

County Sheriff’s Detective Randy Pfau has said Jackson and Darius L. Lewis, 22, are suspected of entering the store about 1 p.m. One of the men had a firearm and robbed the clerk of an undisclosed amount of money before binding the clerk with zip ties and leaving her in the back of the store, Pfau said.

In arraigning Lewis on Thursday, county District Judge Terry L. Clark entered a not guilty plea on his behalf and held him on a $250,000 bond. Lewis remained jailed today.

Lewis is scheduled for a Feb. 15 preliminary hearing before District Judge M.T. Thompson. Borchard is scheduled to sentence Jackson on Feb. 29.

What happens if you cant payback a cash advance at first american ...

I took out a pay day advance at first American cash advance and i am now unable to pay the full amount back. I diffidently going to pay them back. But they are wanting me to pay back in 4 very high payments and i cant do it. I can pay them probably $100 each pay. Will they work with me? What will happen if i cant pay them back in these 4 high payments? And can i go to jail? WHY can’t you pay them back? The huge interest is part of the deal, which is why pay day advances are always a BAD idea. but if you agreed to their terms and took their money, then it’s not right for you to come back and say "sorry, I can’t live up to my part of the deal"

they may decide to "work with you" but they will charge more interest and you’ll end up paying for a very long time. welcome to slavery.

You need to speak to them. If you signed an agreement for an amount each pay you just can’t change your mind because you think it’s too much. They can and probably will just take the amount whether you like it or not. Their interest rate will be enormous so for each extra week it takes you to pay it’s going to cost you a fortune. You won’t go to jail but they will wreck your credit even more.
